Scenic Design

Chris has designed sets for productions all over North America. Once a concept has been established, an artists 3D rendering is created to show you exactly what the set would look like with props, set dressing and lighting. These renderings can be incredibly realistic and help to create a perfect scale model of the scenic design.

Chris works closely with the directing and creative teams to ensure a blend of set, props, lighting and other technical aspects are considered right from the start.  While every good set designer can work with any environment, Chris also bring his magic and illusion expertise to the table.  This lends an interesting take on set design in which various illusionary principles can be applied to make things look thinner, hide actors or technical aspects in the set design and incorporate effects.  For example, in a production of Dracula the set included three secret entrances for Dracula, cleverly hid the system which flew the bat and incorporated a simple non-wire levitation system right into the set.
